The University of Miami, Human Resources Office is starting a search for an Instructional Designer to join the Workforce Engagement and Development (WED) team. Instructional Designer supports the daily operations of WED by assessing needs, developing plans and delivering and evaluating training and development activities.  Duties include:
- Co-designs, reviews and assists in the development of materials produced by other instructional designers.
- Organizes and develops training manuals, reference library, testing and evaluation procedures, multimedia visual aids, and other educational materials.
- Identifies and creates professional development programs to ensure effected employees have the necessary skills to succeed.
- Selects appropriate instructional procedures or methods such as individual training, group instruction, self study, lectures, demonstrations, simulation exercises, role play, and computer-based training.- Trains assigned instructors and supervisory personnel in effective techniques for training.
- Conducts new employee orientation, on-the-job training, health and safety practices, management development, and adaptations to changes in policies, procedures, and technologies as needed 

WED is very collaborative, and functions well as a team, so the fit within the team will be important. The successful candidate will be a strong individual contributor, but also a collaborative team player. The Instructional Designer must possess great organization skills and proven ability in managing multiple priorities and projects.

Requirements: Bachelorís degree and 2 years of training and development experience with at least 1 year of facilitating training. Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and proficiency in Microsoft Office is essential. Experience in developing on-line learning, conducting needs assessments and developing training plans based on needs assessments strongly preferred. Position# 029316

Hiring Range for this position is $42K - $45K.
