The Miami Project to Cure Paralyis is currently seeking a Post Doctoral Associate. The Post Doctoral Associate will be part of a research group of established researchers and will have frequent interactions with a broad range of scientists with expertise in molecular biology, neurobiology, genetics, bioinformatics, molecular pharmacology, chemistry, rehabilitative medicine and clinical pathology. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: To perform experiments to determine the signaling pathways involved in the regeneration of axons from CNS neurons. This involves bioinformatic analysis, in vitro experiments, working with cells transduced to express transgenes, and work with mice and rats. To perform molecular biology techniques such as DNA preparation and cloning, real time PCR and gel preparation. To develop appropriate experiments and write publications on the findings after careful scrutiny of the results. To keep a detailed and accurate record of all research performed. To present findings at lab meetings, departmental seminars and national and/or international conferences.

Minimum qualifications include: Ph.D. or MD in related field. English verbal/written skills are necessary. Strong interpersonal communication skills. Basic computer skills. Advanced computer programming and analytical skills are an advantage. Any appropriate combination of education, certifications, and/or relevant work experience will be considered.
