The John P. Hussman Institute for Human Genomics at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine is currently seeking a Research Associate 2 to work in the sequencing core of the Center for Genome Technology. The Research Associate 2 will be responsible for preparing samples for next-generation sequencing using Agilent SureSelect, Epicentre ScriptSeq and other Illumina sample preparation protocols.

The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows: Bachelorís degree and 2 years of relevant experience is required for the position. Prior experience with the Illumina HiSeq and aforementioned protocols is strongly recommended. SNP genotyping experience is a plus. The ability to work in an interdisciplinary team is expected. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, certifications and/or work experience will be considered.




The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows: AA or AS in a related health care field is required, a BA or BS degree is preferred. Preferred candidate would have a certified Tissue Bank Specialist by the American Association of Tissue Banks. The candidate must also have a minimum of three years experience in all aspects of tissue banking, preferably in the distribution and inventory department. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, certifications and/or work experience will be considered.
