The University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine has an immediate opening for a Research Associate 1, SOM.The RAI/clinical research associate position involves interest and experience in professional clinical and or scientific activities with and interest in pediatrics working with pediatric patients especially in research study protocols and clinical activities. S/he will be responsible for maintenance of and compliance with all procedures and scientific protocols on multiple studies. The RAI will prepare operations manuals, study forms, and report for grant writing. S/he will produce enrollment updates and other materials as well as performing and supervising scientific data entry and maintenance of data collection summaries. The RAI will recruit and schedule patients and subsequently assist with all scientific and clinical procedures from the informed consent process to patient education and intervention activities with children and adolescents. The RAI will facilitate communication between study investigators, data coordinating centers, NIH or other sponsoring agencies; plan and prepare for investigator meetings, presentations and assisting with scientific manuscripts. S/he will work on the clinical team and assist the Director with her clinical and scientific activities from coordinating grants to initiating new clinical programs.

Bachelor's degree with major course work in a related health, sciences, preferred clinical and/or scientific experience. The position requires superior oral/written skills and demonstrated ability to interact with a wide range of individuals including scientist, other investigators, patients, parents, physicians, etc. It requires an ability to take initiative and master knowledge of programís scientific components in addition to adherence to research protocols. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel programs required. Knowledge of FileMaker Pro and other databases is helpful as is Spanish language. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications will be considered.
