The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology is seeking to hire a Nurse Specialist, Programs providing nursing care and diabetes education to patients and family members.
The Nurse Specialist, Programs serves as a liaison between patients and physicians in all matters concerning the educational/self management needs of individuals with diabetes. The nurse specialist also assists in the planning, development and implementation of innovative education programs for children living with diabetes and their families and other health care professionals, thereby maximizing the potential of the education center to be a recognized leader nationally. The incumbent will have responsibilities for developing and or participating in diabetes educational programs for health care professionals both within the University of Miami and the South Florida community at large, concerning the management of diabetes.

Minimum requirements are Bachelor's degree, valid RN License and (3) years of relevant work experience required. Prefer Certified Diabetes Educator or working towards this. Prefer strong interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills. Prefer certified pump and continuous glucose monitor trainer across available technologies, or working toward. Experienced in organized and implementing individual and group education programs preferred. BLS certification required. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications will be considered.
