The Department of Cell Biology is seeking an Associate Director, Finance. This position, which will serve as the Finance Administrator for the Department of Cell Biology, will be responsible for coordination and management of all financial and research operations for the department. This individual will also act as the liaison to all Medical School Shared Services. This individual will manage the finances of the Department and is responsible for assisting the chair with annual budget preparation and closing. She/he will reconcile accounts and interact with Medical Finance for any information request and reporting. In a leadership capacity, trains new staff and documents their progress. Responsible for the supervision of scheduling for special events, location and catering arrangements to ensure funding in accounts and expenses incurred. Responsible for the coordination of faculty recruitment efforts including acting as the liaison to Human Resources and Faculty Affairs offices, and other departments. This also includes coordination of laboratory and household relocation and allocation of laboratory space, equipment purchase and staff hiring. Facilitates and coordinates communications and execution of required actions between the Department of Cell Biology and Human Resources Shared Services.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelors Degree plus five years of work-related experience at managerial level and in areas with emphasis on accounting and financial management and analysis required. Experience working with on line systems and IBM compatible PCs running Windows preferred. Experience with PC applications including spreadsheets, word processing, relational database software required. Excellent skills in English (both oral and written) required. Any appropriate combination of education, certifications, and/or relevant work related experience will be considered.
