The Department of Psychiatry is currently seeking a part time Scientist to support research activities working under the direction of the Principal Investigator or Program Director at Division of Alcohol and Drug Abuse: Treatment and Research, Department of Psychiatry. He/she will be required to supervise research employees, assist in the development of research staff training and play a leadership role in applied research activities and are expected to author, scientific publications, technical and agency reports, or patent applications under the direction of the Principal Investigator or Program Director.

He/she will also performs other duties as assigned such as assisting in handling the entire process of conducting research studies, including study participants related activities such as recruitment, screening, assessments, implementation and accountability of study intervention(s) including counseling and medications, follow-up assessments and other tests (e.g. laboratory, EKC, neuroimaging, etc), participant reimbursements and related activities, interaction with patientís treatment team and others cares when appropriate, and assessment of safety and safety reporting and ensuring study conducted according to protocol design and reporting of deviations. It also includes maintaining of study files such as regulatory documents, correspondence, case report forms files and data files and query resolutions, in compliance with all regulatory requirements and in accordance to Good Clinical Practice. Responsibilities also include performing regulatory requirements related to IRB submissions, study sponsors, Data Safety and Monitoring Boards (DSMBs), and other regulatory entities. Responsibility also involves coordination of activities of multiple programs and services that may be involved for the particular study. It also involves assisting in designing and initiating research protocols, preparing and submitting all information required to sponsoring agency, training staff and participating in the development of emerging research activities within the department as assigned by the investigative team.


Minimum Qualifications include a Ph.D., M.D. or other doctoral level degree and at least at least ten years of relevant post-doctoral research experience. Must be computer literate and familiar with common programs. Any appropriate combination of education, certifications, and/or relevant experience will be considered.
