The University of Miami, Life Alliance Organ Recovery Agency (UM LAORA), is a Division of the Department of Surgery, with an operating budget of $10 million. The function of the UM LAORA is to obtain organs for clinical transplantation throughout South Florida and transport them to transplant centers within the U.S. The UM LAORA procures an average of 400 organs per year from 80 donor hospitals in its area of certification. The position is responsible for the direct supervision of surgical recovery coordinator staff in the clinical recovery, preservation and transportation of organs to be used in clinical transplantation and research in addition to the management of the daily operations related to the Organ Perfusion and Preservation Lab. Candidates for this position must demonstrate excellent staff management skills and have advanced experience in the organ recovery and perfusion/preservation environment in a Operating room and Laboratory setting. This position reports directly to the Executive Director, Director of Clinical Operations, and the Medical Director.

The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows: Bachelorís Degree in Medical Related Field and 3 years of experience required. Hospital Operating Room and Surgical Tech experience is preferred. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, certifications and/or work experience will be considered.
