The Department of Pediatrics is currently seeking a Research Assistant who will help recruit 18-22 year-old men from Miami-Dade County, FL to participate in a research study known as “ATN 110: PROJECT PREPARE – AN OPEN LABEL DEMONSTRATION PROJECT AND PHASE II SAFETY STUDY OF PRE-EXPOSURE PROPHYLAXIS USE AMONG YOUNG MEN WHO HAVE SEX WITH MEN (YMSM) IN THE UNITED STATES”. Tasks for this protocol include accessing this population from the community, developing and helping implement a recruitment strategy, assisting with the initial screening for eligibility, and helping to facilitate individual study visits. The Research Assistant will also provide support for the on-site and outreach operations for the Adolescent Counseling and Testing Service (ACTS) in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Adolescent Medicine. Openness to working confidentially with an adolescent population are required, as well as the ability to function as a member of a multidisciplinary professional team.

The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows: High School Diploma or equivalent education is required. One year of relevant work experience required. Candidate with an HIV 501 certification is preferred. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, certifications and/or work experience will be considered.
