The University of Miami/Calder Library/Health Informatics is seeking a Senior. Administrative Assistant will provide administrative/clerical support for the University of Miami/Calder Library/Health Informatics. This position will be responsible for providing administrative support and will assist with managing calendars, preparing correspondence, scheduling meetings and conferences. This position will assist with the preparation of reports and presentations. Primarily exercises discretion and independent judgment in daily activities. Completes special assignments requiring collecting, organizing, and analyzing data for local, regional and national reports, which may be the basis for significant decisions. Assist in preparing budgets and monitoring expenses, and provides advice regarding budget projects. Prepare reports that summarize financial and statistical information related to work unitís budget, accounts, activities, program clientele and operations. Advises management of unusual trends, funding levels and expenditures, assists with budget development by compiling information to support projected expenditures in specific areas such as operating costs or travel costs. Attend departmental meetings and records, transcribes and distributes minutes. May establish and implement procedures. Perform complex assignments and resolves issues and problems referred by staff or the supervisor. Train and assist in the evaluation of performance of assigned personnel.

High School education and five years of relevant office experience required, Bachelorís degree preferred. An appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications will be considered. Knowledge of a university research environment, and policies & procedures related to purchasing, accounts payable, travel, financial reporting, and personnel is strongly preferred. Excellent computer skills required. Excellent English skills (both verbal and written) required.
