The Department of Neurology is currently seeking a Senior Administrative Assistant. The primary function of this position is to provide academic and administrative support to the Directors of the Multiple Sclerosis and Neuromuscular Divisions. This position will also provide administrative support to the faculty members and staff of both divisions (10 physicians, 1 Division Administrator, 3 fellows, 4 nurses and 6 clinical research coordinators). Incumbent will write grants for educational programs, coordinate patient educations programs (University MS) and act as a liaison with donors. This position will also support research activities by conducting literature searches, ordering articles, sourcing out information related to research interests and activities.

The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows: High School or equivalent education and five year's related experience is required. Experience preferred in an academic, healthcare environment. Scientific background or previous exposure to bibliographic review preferred. Must demonstrate high level of skill with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook calendaring programs.
The candidate must be pro-active, highly motivated and follow up to completion assigned projects. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have professional, appropriate appearance and demeanor. Must be able to work with high level of autonomy and independence, and manage multiple priorities and projects successfully. Must demonstrate a high level of ownership and accountability for all responsibilities and activities. Must be able to problem-solve complex issues. Must be able to interact successfully with internal and external customers and co-workers at all levels of the organization. Will be expected to represent the Division and the Department with the highest level of professionalism and behavior. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, certifications and/or work experience will be considered.
