The Department of Information Technology at the University of Miami is seeking a Desktop Support Technician to provide technical support to the medical campus and its satellite facilities. Duties include telephonic support for the installation, coordination, and daily operation of user application software on the network; remote troubleshooting support; systems monitoring; technical user support for network related issues; installation and support of network application software packages; installation, troubleshooting, configuration and repair of computing equipment including desktop PC, laptops, printers and comparable devices; travel to satellite facilities; and maintenance of nodal concentrator equipment supporting the University data systems.

Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1 year relevant network troubleshooting experience. A valid unrestricted Florida Driverís License is required for travel to satellite facilities. Experience with microcomputers, network operating systems, and data communications troubleshooting is required in addition to having a good working knowledge of networked PC hardware, Windows / Macintosh operating system installation and setup, and Microsoft Office; must be an effective communicator with excellent verbal and written English skills; must demonstrate superior telephone and customer services skills.
