The University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine, Division of Corporate Services- Strategic Operations Decision Support, has an immediate opening for a Decision Support Analyst. An individual who can work independently to assess the financial viability of the University of Miami Medical Group, the UHealth System, and UM Hospital Contracts, assist with the case rates and package pricing; and conduct a variety of ad-hoc business analyses related to the ongoing concerns of the Health System.

The Sr. Decision Support Analyst requires an organized, analytical individual who can work independently to conduct a variety of ad-hoc business reporting related to the ongoing concerns of the Health System.

The Sr. Decision Support Analyst will be directly involved in the design, implementation, support, and ongoing report development for Epicís clinical in-patient, Epicís revenue cycle and other ad-hoc business reporting needs in a healthcare clinical operations setting. Responsibilities include analysis of advanced reporting needs, documentation of requirements, translation of requirements into report specifications, and report writing utilizing SQL, third-party report-writing tools and other appropriate advanced technological solutions.

Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Statistics or related field is required. Three years of experience as a healthcare financial analyst with financial analysis experience with managed care contracts. The ideal candidate is required to have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite of Applications with demonstrated expertise in the use of MS Access and Excel. A strong knowledge of CPT and ICD-9 Coding and DRGís required. Any appropriate combination of education, certifications, and/or relevant work experience will be considered. Experience with Epic, SQL, Business Objects, Crystal Reports and/or OLAP required.  This individual must be able to work independently and prioritize multiple projects. The candidate should also be a strong team player who is self-motivated, has excellent written and verbal communication skills and is able to work with management and staff at all levels. Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment carrying out activities within the area of expertise.
