The Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) Program, is seeking a Communication Specialist to work for The Office of Research. This position reports to the Assistant Director of Educational Initiatives. The Communication Specialist supports the activities of the CITI Program, a web based educational program in the Responsible Conduct of Research and the Protection of Human Research Subjects, hosted by the University of Miami. The program satisfies the training needs of University of Miami faculty and research staff, and many other learners around the world. Specifically, the Communication Specialist will provide editorial and business development support for the CITI Program. This involves writing/editing content for a variety of collateral, including newsletters, brochures, white papers, press releases, electronic campaigns and announcements; reviewing and editing all course content for editorial consistency; Developing internal protocols and documentation, including standards operating procedure documents for the CITI Program; Creating forms and processes to enhance data collection and internal communications; Monitoring customer service ticketing system and CRM system for customer issues; Distributing and editing electronic correspondence and/or announcements using listserv and mailing list maintenance; Assisting in the management and update of content/graphics website and Managing the CITI Program's social media presence.

The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows: Bachelorís degree in Journalism, Marketing or Communications and at least one year of progressive related work or internship experience in a communications role. Flexible work schedule required, hours are subject to change due to operational needs; Very strong communication skills- written and oral; Experience with research ethics education preferred; knowledge of Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) as well as knowledge of Adobe Creative suite preferred (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash). Any appropriate combination of education, certifications and/or relevant work experience will be considered.
