The Division of Pediatrics is currently seeking an full-time Outreach Coordinator (Adolescent Counselor/Linkage Specialist) to perform duties within the Department of Adolescent Medicine’s Special Adolescent Clinic and Adolescent Counseling and Testing Service (ACTS). Duties include prevention education and community outreach for sexually transmitted infection (STI) screening and HIV counseling and testing and linking patients with positive test results to appropriate medical care. This position will work in collaborations with the Miami Family Care Program, which supports this position, and participate in data collection and reporting as required by HRSA's Ryan White Part D federal grant program.

The individual in this role will perform HIV testing using OraSure and OraQuick HIV testing technologies, according to established Florida Department of Health standards at walk-in clinics, weekly ACTS clinic, at established community sites and the Department of Juvenile Justice Dentention Center. Assist clinicians with weekly ACTS clinic, serve as courier to deliver lab specimens to Miami Dade County Health Department and ensure UM biohazard policies and procedures are maintained. Maintain and review specimen and test logs for accuracy and completeness. Conduct post-test counseling with all clients who receive HIV and STD testing and link patients who test positive to appropriate medical services.Reinforce secondary HIV prevention with HIV and Clients and encourage them to bring in their partners for HIV testing or link them directly to Partner Notification services. Assist clinicians in relocating and reengaging HIV positive SAC clients who have missed visits or are lost to follow back to primary care. Adhere to State of Florida's confidentiality laws and HIPAA standards.

Bachelor's degree and one year of relevant work experience required. Knowledge of HIV counseling and testing certifications: AIDS 500/501 and a valid Florida’s driver’s license required. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications will be considered.
