The Dewitt Family Department of Surgery, Miller School of Medicine, currently seeks candidates for the position of Assistant Scientist to work on Notch signaling and molecular mechanisms of tumorigenesis. Applicants must have a Ph.D. and/or M.D. training in one or more of the following fields: cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, mouse genetics and stem cell biology. Experience in mouse genetics or cell and molecular biology desirable. This research laboratory utilizes a multidisciplinary approach to understand the basic mechanisms of tumorigenesis that includes: biochemistry, cell biology, proteomics, mouse genetics, and human tumor based approaches to dissect the role of Notch signaling in stem cells and tumor development.

The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows: Ph.D. and/or M.D. training in one or more of the following fields: cell and molecular biology, biochemistry, mouse genetics and stem cell biology. One year of relevant research experience is required. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, certifications and/or work experience will be considered.
