The Department of Neurological Surgery has an opportunity available for a Physician Assistant within our Medical campus. The Department of Neurological Surgery consists of a group of physicians, nurses, scientists, and staff associates who are dedicated to providing compassionate state of the art medical care and to advancing medical knowledge. We specialize in the management of patients with surgically treatable neurological diseases.
This position will assist the Neurosurgery faculty by monitoring patients, health care, assist the physician in performing surgeries in the main OR as well as ambulatory surgery center. Participate in daily rounds, educate and counsel patients, provide clinical support, facilitate patient scheduling, research and draft correspondence relating to patient work status, disability, medical prognosis and prospective plans of treatment. Categorize and retain data for various research studies as well as review patient X-ray and lab reports.
The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows: Masters degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program (AMA accredited) and one (1) year experience are required. Must have a valid/current Physician Assistant license from the state of Florida. Current CPR certification, HIV, Medical Errors and Domestic Violence certifications are required. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications will be considered.
