The Communications and Digital Assistant will work with other members of the Communications and Digital staff in publicizing the overall Athletics department.

Compensation and Term:
the Communications and digital Assistant is a paid position with a start date of August 1, 2017 and will end on May 31, 2018.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Serve as the secondary media contact for volleyball, men’s basketball and women’s basketball, and men’s tennis, working directly with coaches and student-athletes to produce positive coverage.
Assist with content for Miami’s social media platforms as needed.
Serve as a feature content writer for as needed.
Assist with the production of all departmental publications.
Manage and update archived content on
Produce and archive daily clips for the department.
Staff events in media services capacity, while coordinating duties of support staff.
Assist with football gameday setup and credential distribution.
Respond to written and phone requests from media and others by providing materials, statistics, photos, and allied information.
Assist media operations at league and NCAA Championship events hosted by the University.
File game reports/statistical summaries to specific or requested news outlets, conference and NCAA offices.
Assist in daily management of communications as assigned by the Assistant AD, Communications.
Help the Assistant AD, Communications maintain compliance with the University, ACC and NCAA.
Assist the Director of Digital Strategy as needed.
Required Qualifications:
One to two years of experience working in the sports communications field.
Must have significant writing experience.
Must be a team player and be able work on tight deadlines.
Must be willing to work weekend and evening events.
Have a strong passion for collegiate athletics.
Proficiency in Adobe Suite software, including InDesign desktop publishing software and Adobe Photoshop, as well as with Microsoft Word software.
Experience arranging interviews between media, coaches and student-athletes.
Experience with Stat Crew software packages for a variety of sports is highly desirable.
Experience managing press operations at home athletic events.
Familiarity with all social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat and Instagram.
