The Director of Alumni Engagement - Career Services is responsible for the strategic vision, development, administration and coordination of all alumni programs and events relating to the Regional Engagement team’s career services initiatives. This position will be responsible for leading, planning, and executing a comprehensive career services model for the University of Miami Alumni Association. The position will report to the Senior Director of Alumni Engagement.

Responsibilities:
• Develop the overall strategic vision, development, management, and marketing of the Alumni Career Services Program for the University that fosters a high level of alumni participation and meets the established goals and metrics created for the program.
• Develop career programming and events to service alumni at specific points throughout their career life cycle, including networking and professional development opportunities.
• Manage the Alumni Mentor Program and other regional branded programs and digital platforms.
• Partner with Toppel Career Center, Ziff Placement Center, the Launch Pad, and individual school and college career contacts to take advantage of functional synergies and provide enhanced career services to alumni. Serve as their point of contact for the UM Alumni Association.
• Evaluate and recommend online career solutions/programs that would enhance the overall Alumni Career Services Program.
• Coordinate with the Senior Director, Alumni Engagement – Regional Engagement to develop a strategic plan in coordination with ’Canes Community leaders to promote Alumni Career Services and to educate them on all of the UM Alumni Association’s career programs and services.
• Manage, promote, and increase participation on an annual basis for the Alumni Owned and Operated Businesses Initiative; including but not limited to developing marketing materials for outreach, soliciting and analyzing feedback from participating businesses and implementing new metrics as necessary.
• Ensure alumni attendance is maximized for all programs and events by using recruitment and communication vehicles including but not limited to direct mail, list serves, web sites, telephone campaigns, committee outreach efforts, and personal contacts.
• Identify and recruit volunteers to provide support for university programs, such as career mentoring/placement, UM Alumni Association Board, student recruitment representatives, reunion committees, ’Canes Communities, and Annual Giving, etc.
• Identify and develop new program opportunities and establish appropriate goals for designated programs.
• Establish metrics for success and implement tools for evaluating and analyzing the Alumni Career Services Program on an annual basis.

Administration:
• Administer and manage the fiscal reporting with full responsibility and accountability for assigned program budgets.
• Benchmark and track important alumni outreach objectives including alumni engagement within designated programs.
• Assist the Senior Director and Executive Director of Alumni Engagement with any matters or responsibilities deemed appropriate.

University Liaison Activities:
• Serve as the liaison with the Toppel Career Center, Ziff Placement Center, individual school and college career contacts, as well as select faculty and staff to further the mission of all alumni career services programs.
• Staff various committees and subcommittees for the University of Miami Alumni Association Board of Directors as assigned.

Supervision:
• Responsible for the recruitment, management and supervision of alumni volunteers and volunteer groups within identified programs.
• Benchmark, monitor, and adjust as necessary, the assigned program areas as they relate to defined goals, procedures, budgets and timetables.

Minimum Job Qualifications:
• Baccalaureate degree with an emphasis in Business/ Human Resources, Recruiting, Training and Development preferred. A master's degree or MBA is preferred.
• A minimum of four years of effective and relevant work experience with an emphasis on Career Services, or Human Resources, that includes job placement, counseling, job development, recruitment, employment services, training and development and career transition. Experience in a higher education academic setting is preferred. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
• Consistent record of delivering satisfying results to customers.
• Strong interpersonal as well as excellent written and verbal skills.
• Independent facilitator with proven organizational ability and skill for handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Experience in program/project management and event planning a plus.

Relationships: Must exhibit a willingness to provide outstanding customer service, and an outgoing receptive personality. Must work in harmony with co-workers; follow directions of, accept constructive feedback, and seek advice from their supervisor.

Employment variables: A minimum of 40 hours with extreme flexibility due to the high time demands of the position is expected. This position requires some evening and weekend work, extending past forty hours per week on a regular basis. Some limited travel may be required.
