The Manager of Professional and Leadership Development is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of developmental programs outlined in the Professional and Leadership development strategy. The incumbent will design and deploy a variety of integrated leadership development tools and practices such as coaching, assessments, action learning, and technology enabled learning/development as part of the talent management life cycle. They deliver strategies, programs, processes and resources to ensure the University has effective employees at all levels of the organization.
 
Job Description
•Directly reports to the Director of Talent and Organizational Development (TOD) design team and supports the strategic and operational needs of the function.  Works closely with the TOD leadership team to evolve strategy into implementation using data to drive decision-making about program content and structure.
•Serve as the process owner for professional and leadership development planning to ensure it is integrated with the overall talent management strategy.
•Manage the design and implementation of organization core and leadership competencies.
•Design and implement learning programs for the development of leaders, managers/supervisors, and support staff to specific competencies ensuring programs link to business strategy with a clear ROI.
•Identify current and emerging trends in professional and leadership development that can be used in creating dynamic programs.
•Innovatively use internal and external resources to develop customized best-in-class programs that align with University business objectives and competencies.
•Management of all aspects of the external training partner relationship, including vendor selection, vendor management, program design, program evaluation.
•Works collaboratively with the TOD delivery team to ensure their feedback from the field and expertise is incorporated into the strategy and design of learning programs.
•Work closely and collaborative with HR Business Partners, senior management team, and other key stakeholders across the enterprise to identify and anticipate learning needs of the emerging to senior level leaders.
•Align development of programs to support career management and succession planning initiatives.
•Design the onboarding process for new leaders to support effective transition and integration in to the organization.
•Design tools, programs, and experiences to support managers in ensuring a robust leadership talent pipeline.
•Design and incorporate effective communication and feedback methods for leadership development curriculums.
•Consistently assess and measure training and development programs to ensure they are relevant to the needs of the organization. Works closely with leadership to prioritize, adapt, adjust, sunset or design programs based on those measures.
•Develop and manage a scorecard with a set of key metrics to analyze programs and initiatives to ensure that they are adding value and are relative to business need.
•Other duties as assigned.
 
Education
•Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Psychology, Organization Development, Education, or a related field. 
 
Experience 
•3-5 yrs. experience in training and development field - conducting, designing and implementing professional and leadership development programs is required.
