The Cooperative Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Studies (CIMAS) of the University of Miami (UM), Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science (RSMAS), invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate position that involves the analysis of ocean observations in conjunction with fields from numerical models. 
The successful candidate will be responsible for: 
•Studying water properties and ocean circulation as a function of time and space, using both observations from the Argo array and other sources as well as model fields. 
•He or she will also be responsible for processing data, analyzing and interpreting the results, presenting findings at scientific meetings and publishing the results in scientific journals.
The work will be done in close collaboration with scientists in the Physical Oceanography Division at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Atmospheric Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory (AOML). The work will involve using and interpreting large data sets and numerical model output.
Applicants must have:
•Ph.D. in Physical Oceanography or in a related field. 
The successful candidate should have experience with one or more of the following: 
•Observational data analysis; use of numerical model output as a means for interpreting observation-based results, and descriptive oceanography. 
•Strong communication and computer skills are required.
•Familiarity with the areas of research commensurate with the general activities at NOAA’s Physical Oceanography Division at AOML would be particularly valuable.
