The SBA is seeking a Programs Manager to perform the following primary Duties and Responsibilities which include (but are not limited to):
  • Works with minimal supervision to coordinate major undergraduate events, student activities, and related administrative tasks to support enrollment management and student programming
  • Works closely with the Assistant Dean and Vice Dean to coordinate new student orientations, Commencement exercises, Family Weekends, honors ceremonies, Sophomore KickStart, “FOCUS ON (country)” events, admissions Open Houses, SBA Undergraduate Celebration of Excellence (awards ceremony), Peer Counseling Awards, special guest speakers, professional seminars and workshops, major student conferences, and travel arrangements for student academic enrichment and engagement on and off campus.
  • Works closely with Assistant Dean and other business units to promote and coordinate opportunities for selected to students to access international in-country activities including: faculty led immersion courses, conferences, competitions, professional development, and social entrepreneurship activities.
  • Negotiates, reviews, and executes all contractual relationships for undergraduate business events and programs, oversees logistics for both onsite and off-site facilities, and connects to relevant university systems and personnel to ensure compliance with university policies and procedures. 

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Using independent judgment completes special assignments for the Vice Dean, which include but are not limited to collecting, organizing data, and producing reports. 
  • Hires and assigns schedules, trains, disciplines, evaluates performance and makes pay recommendations and otherwise resolves all student employee issues with little or no supervision. 
  • Handles unique situations where each contact must be handled differently, using judgment and extreme discretion. 
  • Supervises 1 full time equivalent employee and four or more part-time student employees. 
  • Coordinates meetings, compiles research and background files/briefs in preparation for Vice Dean’s use. 
  • Provides ancillary support to Assistant Dean and senior advisors or program directors. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned. 
Minimum requirements:
Bachelor’s degree or 5-7 years career experience. Events management experience highly preferred. Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; bilingual (Spanish or Mandarin) preferred. Excellent organizational skills, superior initiative and attention to detail, and above average critical thinking skills required. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio, and Project) required, working knowledge of Photoshop or related software.  position #049381
