The Cooperative Institute for Marine and Atmospheric Studies (CIMAS) of the University of Miami (UM), Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science (RSMAS) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Associate to participate in one of the following: analysis of hydrographic, satellite or other in situ oceanographic data, study of ocean dynamics and its relationship to weather and climate, and evaluation of ocean observations. The work will be done in close collaboration with scientists in the Physical Oceanography Division primarily at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Atmospheric Oceanographic and Meteorological Laboratory (AOML).
The work will involve working with large data sets and numerical model outputs. Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Physical Oceanography or in a related field. The successful candidate should have experience in one or more of the following: Data analysis, numerical modeling, and descriptive oceanography. Strong communication and computer skills are required.
