The Manager of Workplace Equity and Performance is responsible for managing an array of activities to build trust and maintain positive work relationships between managers, employees, students, applicants and other stakeholders. The individual collaborates and partners with departments and assists the University community in fostering and promoting a culture of respect, fairness and equity. This individual will assist and support human resources staff and liaisons with investigations, as needed. The Manager effectively administers the University’s employment and equal opportunity policies and procedures to ensure alignment with the University’s continuous efforts in providing equal access and adherence with applicable laws. This individual will design and conduct related training sessions including new employee orientation, diversity awareness, employment laws including Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Human Resources policies and procedures, Sexual Harassment, Family Medical Leave Act, and other EO/diversity areas.

The incumbent will be responsible for facilitating and developing strategies to improve supervisory/employee relations, manage complaint/grievance processes including receiving, investigating, analyzing, and making recommendations; assisting in compiling information and writing responses to formal charges of discrimination or harassment. The manager will also work closely with other human resources leaders to execute the Human Resources division strategic vision, mission and goals.

Requirements:

Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field and a minimum of 5 years of work related experience managing programs including investigating complaints and conducting training sessions, as required. Knowledge and principles of human resource/employee relations and diversity management in the academic and work environment, preferred. Thorough knowledge of the principles and practices of equal opportunity/affirmative action and applicable federal, state and local employment laws, rules and regulations such as Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, ADA, FMLA, Sexual Harassment, etc. Must be an effective communicator both written and verbally to prepare reports, correspondence, and presentations; and possess a strong customer service orientation. Demonstrate ability to interact with employees and leaders at all levels; ability to deal with confidential information; excellent organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks s simultaneously. Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. Review of resumes will continue until a successful candidate has been identified. Position 034523.
