The Sylvester Cancer Center is seeking an Executive Assistant who responsible for managing day-to-day operations for the Director of the Braman Family Breast Cancer Institute. These duties include providing executive-level administrative support for all activities related to the Director’s functions as head of the Institute, Associate Director for Translational Research and Breast Cancer Program Leader for the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, Principal Investigator of a research laboratory, Professor of Medicine and Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, and Medical Oncologist. This position is mainly self-directed and exercises considerable independent judgment and authority, as well as the utmost discretion, in accomplishing the work of the office in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures. In addition, the Executive Assistant serves as the Director’s liaison to all the diverse external and internal constituencies of the University.
Bachelors’ degree required. Five years of effective work experience supporting a senior level manager. An appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered. Knowledge of a university research environment, and policies and procedures related to purchasing, accounts payable, travel, financial reporting, and personnel is strongly preferred. Excellent computer skills required (Word, Excel), and willingness to learn other applications including PowerPoint. Knowledge of complications of data, prepare reports, budgets, grant preparation, administrative support and oversight helpful. Excellent English skills (both verbal and written) required. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
