The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine has a position available for a highly-motivated and detail-oriented Research Associate 2. The candidate must be interested in the development of software codes for processing blood flow velocity, flow rate and vessel diameters on the conjunctiva and retina. These studies include the development of technique improvements as well as signal and imaging processing algorithms to provide metrics for microvascular analysis. The development is to provide predictive measures of ocular, systemic and central nerve system diseases.

The minimum qualifications for this position are as follows: Bachelor’s degree is required. Master’s degree is preferred. Two years of experience required in vision research and ophthalmology and experience in image processing of Retinal Function Imager and optical coherence tomography in Matlab. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English are necessary. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.
