The Department of Otolaryngology, Ear Institute has an opportunity available for an Assistant Professor of Clinical in the Audiology division. This position will also hold an administrative appointment as the Clinical Audiology Manager. In this capacity, the incumbent will be responsible for overseeing the clinical operations of Audiology division and will work directly with the service line leads to achieve objectives under the direction of the Chief of Audiology. The clinical responsibilities assigned to this position will be to perform evaluation, follow-up and management of general Audiology implant patients. In addition, the individual will be expected to perform complete audiological evaluations, vestibular testing, fitting of assisted hearing devices, cochlear programming and aural rehabilitation. Individual will be actively involved with research projects, teaching residents and conducting Grand Rounds with basic and clinical faculty. Individual will be required to document clinical work thoroughly as well as complete billing data to be in full compliance with pertinent local, state and national laws. This position requires the individual to work independently performing clinical, research and academic duties and responsibilities. Research includes basic and clinical trials. Teaching duties include performing grand rounds , instructing medical students and Otolaryngology residents, presenting in national and international programs, as well as publishing in peer reviewed journals.
Must have an Au. D. (Doctor of Audiology) degree, plus pertinent experience in Audiology. Ideal candidate should have knowledge of basic audiology, hearing aids, vestibular and cochlear implant programming.
