The University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Department of Business Development and Managed Care has an opportunity available for a Senior Manager, Payer Relations. The Senior Manager, Payer Relations will evaluate and coordinate the external relations with a group of UHealth’a payers; establish individual payer strategies, long term objectives and near term goals; and assume responsibility for contract language and rate pricing, negotiations, and payer relationship management.

Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering, Business, Finance or related field and four years of relevant work experience required. Experience with contracting both facilities and physician groups in an integrated health system. Significant knowledge of contractual, administrative, health insurance and operational issues related to managed care organizations, physician groups, hospitals and health insurance benefit plan designs. Strong relationship management and negotiation skills. Ability to resolve complex contract matters through communication with internal and external customers. Ability to convey information effectively. Ability to interact with a variety of audiences. Ability to manage and coordinate the activities of other employees and ensure a high level of performance. Excellent written, analytic, and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and leadership skills, follow-through and demonstrated ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications will be considered.
