Work Location: Coral Gables Campus Work Schedule: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. The person in this position is responsible for processing and placing firm orders requested by the subject librarians, UM faculty, and students with vendors worldwide. This person also performs weekly database maintenance, and assists with end-of-fiscal-year database maintenance correcting errors in the library’s system, as assigned by supervisor. ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Responsible for processing and placing firm orders for print and electronic materials, including domestic and foreign language publications, audiovisual materials, and out-print materials, as assigned by supervisor. This person is responsible for following up and claiming these orders. This position is also responsible for doing the database maintenance required for withdrawals and replacements of missing and/or damaged library materials. Assist with the weekly receiving and processing of electronic approval books: checks links and functionality, performs quality control on e-book supplier interface, and evaluates bibliographic records for accuracy and completeness; reports problems to supplier and Cataloging Department respectively. Assist in doing end-of-fiscal-year database maintenance duties, as assigned by supervisor. Reconcile the Purchasing Card bank statement for this position and create a register for monthly PCard purchases. Responsible for answering the phone for the Monographic Acquisitions Unit, as well as the loading dock door for deliveries. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent and 2 years of library experience. College work may be substituted for experience on a year-to-year basis; aptitude for detail and accuracy; excellent oral and written English language skills, plus good reading comprehension of a Romance language are required; good knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
