The Department of Epidemiology has an opportunity available for a Manager of Programs who will be instrumental in creating, implementing, managing, and supporting a new Master’s program in clinical and translational science as well as auxiliary activities related to its success. This individual will work closely with the CTSI Research Education component co-directors, principal investigators, program faculty, and other senior administrators to complete the curricula for this master’s program. She/he will assist with the advertising and marketing of the program, writing of program goals and descriptions, and the development of the Bootcamp courses; additionally she/he will coordinate and handle the Masters in Translational Science, Ph.D. Concentration in Translational Science, Mentored Translational Research Scholars Program (K12), Mentoring Programs and the Certification of Professional Staff Program. She/he will be responsible for the fiscal aspects and budget for the program and serve as a resource for the students, trainees and other participants in the courses and formal training programs. She/he will gather information and prepare the semiannual Component progress reports as well as the NIH annual progress reports under the direction of the Component Co-Directors. The Manager of Programs will also handle administrative duties including answering phones, drafting official correspondence scheduling, assisting with grant submissions, logistics for clubs/seminars/special visits and perform other duties as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree and three years of progressive experience required (Master's Degree and five years of work experience preferred). Work experience in administration of graduate programs or involvement with higher education is preferred. Candidate must be analytical, detail-oriented, have a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently, and be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite. Usage and knowledge of sites including Scopus, ISI Web of Knowledge, and PubMed. Work in the evenings and on weekends when needed. Equivalent combinations of experience/education may be considered. Any appropriate combination of education, certifications, and/or relevant work experience will be considered.
