Work Location: Coral Gables Campus
Work Schedule: 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
The individual is responsible for library work of a complex nature requiring independent judgment based on knowledge of library policies and procedures. Individual is responsible for various electronic resources management tasks, database maintenance, and vendor claims. Position requires telephone and email follow up with vendors, requires that the individual have pleasant telephone demeanor, and be a fast learner.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Creating Resource Records and various other maintenance activities in Millennium and ERM
Serials Solutions; activate journals; address/edit access issues, output dates, output URL’s; edit publication and database status; contact Serials Solutions staff for support. Edit database descriptions and subject categories; test search results and deploy changes; use administrative module for troubleshooting; turn databases on/off as needs arise; search for access and registration details such as URL’s and update information in Serials Solutions, contact vendors for various journal access concerns including technical support; attend webinars and workshops; register and activate electronic journals; gather and prepare monthly usage statistical reports for the Head of Acquisitions and the Dean of Libraries; create spreadsheets regarding various publishers, packages, access information, and specific journal information.
Create and update order records in Millennium; create Resource records, update and relate in ERM; identify duplicate issues, print cancellations, transfers to electronic journals, etc. and update in Millennium/ERM; verify correct invoicing of journal packages/individual titles and that proper discounts are applied; verify correctness of application of payments/credits o Following through with Systems Work Requests and Tasks generated by patrons via Library Intranet.
Assist with collection analysis; compile statistics using Scholarly Stats.
Maintain helpful and supportive customer service behavior with all library customers; establish effective and supportive interdepartmental relationships to increase unit effectiveness and disseminate information; communicate frequently and effectively with all university staff, faculty, and administrators in a timely manner regarding procedures, policies, and other necessary information. Participates in ongoing special projects including database clean-up. Maintains helpful and supportive customer service behavior with all library customers. Establishes effective and supportive interdepartmental relationships to increase unit effectiveness and disseminate information.
Requirements: High School diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience OR 2 years of college Basic data entry and word processing skills; skilled in using e-mail system; working knowledge of database maintenance practices and procedures; good oral and written English language communication skills; ability to work cooperatively and productively with others; aptitude for accuracy and detail; analytic and critical thinking skills; supervisory experience preferred.
